Independence Day is a great holiday here in San Francisco area! From fireworks over the bay to getting outside to enjoy the weather, there is always something to do.  For those of our candidates and clients who may be new to San Francisco or even those who are looking to try something new this year, our team at the DeWinter Group has pulled together a list of our favorite 4th of July activities. Here are a few things to try this year:

  1. Laying on the grass around Shoreline Amphitheater to watch the firework display. It's right above you!
  2. Go sailing in the Bay!
  3. Get out of town. After more than two decades living in San Francisco and seeing more than my share of "colored fog" from fireworks, we either do a road trip or hit a music festival somewhere with a little more heat.
  4. The best thing to do on Independence Day in the Silicon Valley is to have a BBQ during the day and then drive up to the foothills to watch the fireworks at night.
  5. The Bolinas versus Stinson Beach Tug of War at 8:00 am on the Fourth!
  6. Go to 26th Avenue beach in Santa Cruz.
  7. Eat 😄
  8. Walk down to the water at the Embarcadero, under the bridge, is a special place to watch the fireworks.
  9. BBQ with family and friends. Go to the Oakland hills for a hike. Go to an A's or Giants game. Take a boat out on the Bay. Go to Santa Cruz or Stinson Beach.
  10. Nothing says Independence like skydiving or zip lining in Santa Cruz!
  11. Wine tasting and barbecue in Napa Valley!
  12. Russian River - Parade of Floats, Water Curtain & Fireworks Show!
  13. Hike. Hiking in the Marin Headlands to watch fireworks is such an awesome experience for Independence Day. Heading out to the beach for a picnic definitely isn't a bad choice either!
  14. In the Silicon Valley, we head to the beaches or enjoy a day filled with food, fun, and relaxation by the pool at Silver Creek Country Club. At night, we have an amazing view of multiple fireworks shows.
  15. Find a friend with a great rooftop view of the fireworks at Central Park in Santa Clara! No line for the bathroom 😆 - We heard DeWinter Group's Mike Tomasello has the perfect spot if you are looking!

From our family to yours, we wish you all a safe and happy 4th of July!
