Q&A WITH FIONA GEISINGER
How long have you worked in accounting, finance, and/or tech? Recruiting?
I have been working in finance and tech for over 10 years.
How were you introduced to the recruiting industry?
I was introduced through online research and a family friend.
Why do you look forward to working in accounting, finance or tech talent acquisition?
There are many smart, driven individuals in the Bay Area. I have had the pleasure of working with some of these people in my career. Each person I worked with had a unique skill that complemented the specific work he/she did and added something to the company's culture. I look forward to working with both candidates and clients to understand the individualized skills and personalities that they are looking for and matching them accordingly.
If you were to provide advice to peers in accounting, finance, or tech seeking to develop their careers, what would it be?
Surround yourself with people that influence you. You should always be growing and one of the best ways to do that is to learn from your surroundings.
How did you first learn about the DeWinter Group?
I was referred to DeWinter Group 6 years ago when I had just graduated with my MBA from Santa Clara University. I walked into the DeWinter Group's office as an impressionable new grad looking to "make it" in the finance industry. Derek took the time to understand me and what I really meant when I said: "make it". He advised me on what steps I should take to get to where I wanted to go in my career and I am ever so grateful. When I decided to move into the recruiting industry, DeWinter Group came to mind. A not-so-brief conversation with Sarah started me on the path to working with the DeWinter Group and I could not be any happier.
What are 3 words to describe the DeWinter Group (or your impression thus far)?
- Honest
- Dedicated
- Supportive
How do you plan on developing the DeWinter Group? What are your goals for the coming year?
I plan to use my already existing network as a foundation to build on. I will utilize the expertise and successes of the DeWinter Group to learn and develop into a great recruiter. Listening, asking questions, and learning will help me build my skills to be successful in the long journey of my recruiting career. I am looking forward to being a part of such a well-established firm and contributing to their success!
How do you plan on practicing the DeWinter Group's Mission Statement: 'We Build Our Network One Relationship at a Time'?
Building and maintaining relationships takes work and it is my job to continue to build upon already established relationships and grow new relationships through honesty and candor. I will genuine in my communication and listen to each individual to truly understand the needs and how I can help.
How do you plan on balancing your career at the DeWinter Group and free time?
Work Hard, Play Hard! I have always lived by that motto. Put quality time into your career and be fully present when you are there so that you can take the time to play, travel, and adventure. The time I put in at work is efficient and effective so that I can go home and have quality time with my 2 boys and show them all of the fun things I love to do. I feel, as a working mom, it is my responsibility to show my boys that I can balance having a successful career I love and being there for my family.
